GUIDING LIGHT’s Tom Pelphrey Cast in MARVEL’S IRON FIST!

Tom Pelphrey (Jonathan, GUIDING LIGHT; Mick, AS THE WORLD TURNS) has joined Netflix’s upcoming series, MARVEL’S IRON FIST!

_Marvel* is reporting that Pelphrey has been cast as Ward Meachum, and 90210’s Jessica Stroup will be playing his sister, Joy. Childhood friends of Danny Rand, they find their lives turned upside down when he returns to reclaim his birthright.

“Much like Danny Rand’s past is a mystery to us,” says executive producer and showrunner Scott Buck, “we’ll discover along the way that the Meachum children have intriguing secrets of their own.”

“So excited to be joining this team,” Pelphrey tweeted. “Thanks for all of the support as always!”

In the comic book the series is based on, Ward Meachum is a villain, and ATWT fans know how well Pelphrey can play one of those! Of course, GL viewers know he can also infuse a troubled character with great heart. We’ll find out exactly what this character is like when IRON FIST premieres on Netflix.
