Peleton Commerical Star Monica Ruiz Lands Role on THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL
Social media has been buzzing recently about a holiday ad from Peleton, and now Monica Ruiz, the actress who stars in the commercial, has landed a guest role on THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL! The soap often jumps aboard trends by snagging viral guest stars like this — remember when the Fiji Water Girl from the Golden Globes made a cameo on the daytime drama?
The Peleton commercial, in which a housewife receives the stationary exercise bike as a gift and documents her experience using it over the course of a year, drew criticism from people accusing it of promoting negative stereotypes and implying women should be thankful for their husbands telling them to lose weight. (Especially since the woman, played by Ruiz, already looks beautiful and healthy.) The actress has already parlayed her viral celebrity into another commercial for a gin made by actor Ryan Reynolds, and now is making her daytime debut on B&B.
The soap tends to use guest stars to play Forrester models, but there are no details yet as to what kind of character Ruiz will be playing. She’s scheduled to tape her episode on Dec. 17, to air sometime in January. We’ll keep you updated as more information is released.
