UPDATE: Y&R’s Two Noahs Speak Out!
Yesterday, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS announced that Kevin G. Schmidt would be returning to the role of Noah, replacing the actor who replaced him, Luke Kleintank. “Having a blast working with everyone again!” Schmidt tweeted after the news broke. “First episode April 14th!”
After news of his exit was announced, Kleintank — whose Noah recently left for New York City to focus on his music career — took to his Twitter page, posting that “I will not be returning to Young and The Restless as Noah… I had to leave because of other projects I’m working on and I couldn’t commit. Kevin should do great.”
But what was the reason for the switch? In addition to his Y&R gig, Kleintank has recurring roles on the primetime dramas GOSSIP GIRL and NO ORDINARY FAMILY. Insiders speculate that with the soap’s plans to bring Eden Baldwin back to Genoa City — a casting call was put out for the role last played by Vanessa Marano late last week — there will be a focus on Genoa City’s younger set in the coming months, posing scheduling conflicts for Kleintank.
