CBS Being Sued Over B&B Scene!

Did the sight of THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL’s Zack Conroy (Oliver) in his skivvies, wearing a cowboy hat and serenading Amber with his guitar last November send your heart racing? It certainly did for New York City’s famous Naked Cowboy, but for a very different reason: He is suing CBS over the scenes! TMZ is reporting that the Naked Cowboy — aka street performer Robert John Burck, who has been a fixture in Times Square for years — is suing the network for trademark infringement, among other things, and asking for $1.5 million in damages. Burck is claiming that not only did the sexy soap scenes violate his trademark, but CBS promoted that clip on their website and YouTube with “Naked Cowboy” attached to it.

His target against CBS isn’t the first time that Burck has filed a lawsuit for trademark infringement. In 2008, he reportedly settled a $4 million suit against the Mars candy company for an featuring a blue M&M dressed in “his” outfit on a big screen outside their M&M’s World store in Times Square, and last year he filed a suit against his female counterpart, claiming that the “Naked Cowgirl” — ex-stripper Sandy Kane — was confusing tourists and devaluing his brand with her vulgar antics.

“We choose to respond with the bare minimum to the plaintiff’s naked allegations,” a CBS spokesperson told KABC-TV Los Angeles. What do you think, readers? Does this guy have a case, or is he just looking for a quick buck?
