CBS Plans Special Anniversary Events for Y&R and B&B

It’s always a little odd when CBS announces the “season premieres” of its daytime dramas, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS and THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL, given that since they’re on every day, there’s no real distinction between seasons.

But Friday, Sept. 30 is the start of something very special for Y&R because the soap is kicking off its 50th season! The network has a brand-new logo created especially for the monumental achievement, and has some special surprises in store for fans. Y&R will be marking the 50th anniversary of its premiere on March 26, which is a Sunday, but they will be celebrating five decades of drama, romance, and excitement all season long. Look for some classic storylines to be revisited along with the return of some fan-favorite characters. 

Meanwhile, sister soap B&B will head into its 36th season on Monday, Sept. 26, an occasion that will feature a special crossover episode with Y&R! The popular daytime drama that continues to be watched around the world will be airing its 9,000th episode on Friday, April 14, 2023. That’s a little too far into the future to have details about how they’ll celebrate that milestone, but we’re sure it’ll be special!
