Chapman Heads To The Stage!

Tags:

Fans who’ve been lamenting that Gloria’s presence on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS has been reduced to stints in jail, wringing her hands on the sidelines regarding her children, and serving up a cocktail or two at Gloworm, can take heart — and see her portrayer, Judith Chapman, in a one-woman play called Vivien about the life of legendary actress Vivien Leigh, who suffered from manic-depression. “I actually played her 10 years ago in a play at the Old Globe Theater, so when I found this play, I knew I had to do it,” says the actress. “I had done a lot of research before, but now my research was much more in depth. I had to really explore her, since it will be only me on stage, going through every single relationship, every single moment cross-referenced of what was happening in her life, and how she really felt about that. I’ll be exploring the darkness and the light. It thrilled me at first, and then terrified me!”

Chapman is scheduled to bring her Vivian Leigh portrayal to the Rogue Machine Theatre in Los Angeles the weekends of August 12-15 and August 19-22, and August 27-28. If you’re interested in watching the soap vet’s performance, call: 323-930-0747 or visit www.roguemachinetheatre.com.

UPDATE: An additional show has been added for Monday, August 29.
