Daytime Emmy Awards 2019 Hosts Announced
The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences have announced some additional details about the 2019 Daytime Emmy Awards, including who is hosting the Emmys this year as well as who is hosting the red carpet coverage. And they’re going to be very familiar faces! Mario Lopez and Sheryl Underwood are returning to host the ceremony on Sunday, May 5, at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Burbank, CA. They both have experience on the soaps with Lopez playing Dr. Christian Ramirez on THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL and Underwood guest starring on both B&B and sister soap THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS.
“I am thrilled to have one of the most entertaining combinations in daytime television hosting our grand gala at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium,” said David Michaels, SVP, Daytime, (NATAS). “With their combined wit and charm, plus America’s favorite Arbiter, Judge Judy, receiving this year’s lifetime achievement award as well as the best of Daytime nominated in all genres and a stellar list of presenters yet to be announced, it promises to be a memorable night for the daytime community.”
The Creative Arts Ceremony, held on Friday, May 3, will be hosted by David Osmond. GENERAL HOSPITAL actress (and Emmy Award winner) Carolyn Hennesy (Diane) will be returning to host the Daytime Emmys Live Stream from the Red Carpet and Backstage Post Show. Fans can tune in and ask their own questions for Hennesy to ask the stars on social media via the official Daytime Emmys Twitterand the official Daytime Emmy Awards Facebook page.
