Daytime Emmys 2018 Acting Pre-Nominees Announced
It’s officially the start of Emmy season! The Drama Performer Pre-Nominations for the 45th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards have been announced, featuring the amazing talent from GENERAL HOSPITAL, DAYS OF OUR LIVES, THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL, and THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS! “We are excited to officially launch the 45th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards with this list of extremely talented actors and actresses. Our 45th Anniversary show promises to be a star-studded gala filled with lots of surprises,” said David Michaels, Senior Vice President of the Daytime Emmy Awards and Executive Producer.
The pre-nominees were selected by registered, eligible peer judges who were required to view clips online featuring the work of each performer entry before selecting their top 10 performer choices in each category. However, there are actually 11 candidates for the Lead Actress nomination because there was an exact tie in the voting.
The candidates below who receive the highest number of votes will now advance to the Blue Ribbon screening round, scheduled to begin on Feb. 22, which will determine the final nominees and winner in each category. Except in the case of the Younger Actor and Actress categories, all of whom will proceed directly to the Blue Ribbon round. The final nominations will be revealed on Wednesday, March 21 live on CBS’s THE TALK.
