Is Eric Braeden Leaving THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS? — The Star Speaks Out! (EXCLUSIVE)

Tags:

For fans of THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS who have been worried that Victor’s blood disease might be a death sentence for The Mustache, Soaps In Depth has some good news that will ease your mind! Portrayer Eric Braeden reports that he has no plans to leave the soap anytime soon! “No — categorically, no!” the soap legend told In Depth about those pesky rumors swirling lately on the Internet. “I love this job! I love doing it. I love who I’m working with. Why in the world would I want to leave now? No, I will never leave!”

In fact, Braeden not only will be sticking around but will be celebrating his 40th anniversary with the sudser next February! “Can you believe it? How lucky am I!” he marveled. “For 40 years, I have been doing what I love doing! In this business, you have 90 to 95 percent of actors who can’t make a living full-time. But I’ve been employed, more or less, since 1962. That was on [primetime]. But as an actor, you never really feel safe that this job is going to last. I don’t have any personal pictures in my dressing room because of that! It’s almost 40 years later, and I still don’t trust it. It’s the nature of this business!”

Still, the Emmy winner knows who to thank for his continued longevity on Y&R — the soap’s viewers! “It is very gratifying to me to have their support!” he says. “I am immensely grateful to the people who watch this show. They are loyal. Without them, nothing would be. So I am very, very grateful to the fans!”
