GL’s Jean Carol Gets “Promoted”!

Emmy-nominated actress Jean Carol, who played Harley and Frank’s irrepressible mom, Nadine, on GUIDING LIGHT, can be seen now in the feature film Promoted as an upscale and entitled socialite. The movie’s premise deals with three junior account executives who are pitted against each other as they try to climb their way to the top of the corporate ladder at an advertising agency.

“I love my character’s name — Eliza Fox,” Carol enthusiastically shares with Soaps In Depth. “She’s the mother of the main gal in the movie — Marissa, who is played by Justine Wachsberger (Twilight). Eliza is very entitled and unaware of what’s going on with her kids. She’s very snobby and thinks she can buy her way through life.”

One of Marissa’s competitors is Cody Longo (ex-Nicky, DAYS OF OUR LIVES). “He’s a sweet kid,” says Carol, who shares that Promoted is available now on Google Play, Amazon, ITunes and Vudu and also on DISH Network.

How does the actress feel about all the different platforms on which today’s content can be viewed? “For actors, the big pro is that there are more opportunities,” says Carol. “A former acting teacher of mine, Richard Lawson (Lucas, ALL MY CHILDREN), says that now Hollywood is a second option and that [actors] can go out and create their own stuff!”
