Hendrickson Returns To Y&R For Emmy Night!

Tags:

Elizabeth Hendrickson (ex-Chloe) hasn’t appeared on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS since last May, but has earned herself a Daytime Emmy Award nomination in the Supporting Actress category. “I was so close to not submitting,” she confesses. “Because I was gone, I didn’t know how that would be received. I never know how to deal with that. But I felt like my last year was my best year, so why not give it one more shot?”

The previous year, Hendrickson had submitted Chloe’s reaction to the sudden death of her daughter, Delia, but this time the actress opted to submit her farewell episode. “I usually tend to submit on the lighter side, but this was my most honest work that I had of a full show,” she says. “The Delia stuff was pretty much done with and I’d already been there, done that. It was really all about one scene with Greg [Rikaart, Kevin] and saying good-bye to him. I still get chills thinking about it. It was really fitting. Last year, last day, last submission.”

Hendrickson is looking forward to seeing her old Y&R castmates again at the ceremony, and laments those who won’t be joining her as an Emmy nominee. “I was bummed that [Greg] didn’t submit,” she confides. “I think everything he does is gold! I was really bummed not to see Missy [Melissa Claire Egan, Chelsea] get nominated. I was really proud to see her submit in lead actress. I think that was an awesome, bold, well-deserved move. So I was bummed not to see her up there, because I think she deserved it. You never know how these things work!”
