Hot Time In The City

Y&R’s Bryton James has been in a slew of front-burner storylines since his character, Devon, arrived in Genoa City. And all of them were social conscious, tearjerkers — from being a homeless teen with a hefty chip on his shoulder, to the angst of becoming a foster kid, to dealing with a drug addicted mom, to discovering his biological dad (who happened to be the son of the town’s matriarch, Katherine Chancellor)! The storyline that continued to elude him until two years ago was actually a torrid romance.

“That’s what I always wanted!” he laughs. “I always thought everyone was sleeping with everyone on soaps! But I never got that!”

Well, until the powers that be paired Devon with Hilary — who just happened to be the wife of his adopted dad, Neil!

“I’m just appreciative to the writers and fans to get to this point, where they fought to be together and now they’ve had a wedding of this magnitude!”

Soaps In Depth spoke to the Emmy winner about that wedding, as well as how he managed to survive being a child star when so many burn out. Pick up the magazine today for this candid interview!
