LeBlanc Can’t Wait For Emmy Night!

Christian Jules LeBlanc (Michael, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS) has been nominated for a Daytime Emmy 10 times before this one — and taken home three of those trophies — but he insists that it never gets old!

“I’m amazed!” he enthuses. “It’s a celebration for all of us. It’s our business card. It’s an interesting process. You hate it or you love it. If you’re nominated, you’re not by any means the best actor in the world or even of daytime. You are there celebrating the community of daytime along with the rest of your peers.”

To earn the nod, LeBlanc submitted the episode where Michael tells Lauren he has cancer, but he forgot when the nominations were being announced and was actually at the gym when he got a text! “Steve Burton (Dylan) of all people, which was very sweet,” he recalls. “And then it all came in a bunch [of texts]. I was on this running thing and I went flying into some gym class behind me to show everyone my text, ‘Hey look!'”

He’s also excited that the ceremony is being broadcast on television again, and from Warner Bros. Studio. “I think it’s a brilliant idea!” LeBlanc smiles. “I like the old Hollywood aspect of it, I like having a long red carpet again. It will be interesting. It’s a first. I was ready for something different. The red carpet [last year] was a [disaster] and we’re trying to make it better. It’s a historic soundstage. It’s up to them to make a really great show.”
