Did You Catch Naomi Judd’s Surprise Cameo on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS?

If that voice calling in to expose Jordan and Chelsea’s con artist past on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS sounded familiar, it’s because it was country music superstar Naomi Judd! After the show aired, the soap’s Twitter shared: “Thank you to the wonderful Naomi Judd for your cameo as caller ‘Connie Wood’ during ‘The Hillary Hour!’”

During the Nov. 16 episode, Hilary’s show was interrupted by breaking news as she took a call from a woman named Connie Wood, who revealed that she had been scammed by Jordan and another woman. And when a photo of the woman was displayed, it was revealed that his partner in crime was none other than Chelsea! The character was named after real-life Y&R fan Connie Wood, who won a raffle at a fan event for the soap back in August to have her name appear on the show. And this was such a fun way to do it!

Judd became famous as one half of the award-winning country duo The Judds, the other half being her daughter, Wynonna. Her first acting role was back in 1979 as “Girl in Bus” in More American Graffiti. Over the years, she made appearances on TV series like SISTERS, 3rd ROCK FROM THE SUN and TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL and starred alongside Andy Griffith and Gerald McRaney in the 1999 film A Holiday Romance. While she continued to perform with her daughter occasionally, Judd expanded into hosting with her Hallmark Channel talk show NAOMI’S NEW MORNING and writing with books like Naomi’s Guide to Aging Gratefully: Facts, Myths, and Good News for Boomers.

While Judd’s Y&R cameo was just a quick, fun appearance, Connie’s shocking revelation could destroy all the goodwill that Jordan and Chelsea have built up over time in Genoa City. So stay tuned to see how the fallout from Judd’s bombshell affects everyone as the story continues! And for more Y&R news, keep reading the CBS edition of Soaps In Depth magazine!
