Ramirez Protects And Serves
On THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS, Marisa Ramirez did her best as cosmetic executive Carmen Mesta to try to straighten out the troubles at Newman Enterprises’ Beauty Of Nature. Now she’s working to eliminate a big problem in the city where her current show, CBS’ BLUE BLOODS, is produced.
“Trying to provide affordable and safe housing in New York City is not easy,” she says. “So there are about 25 teams of 10 women each raising $250,000 to $500,00 to build homes for local single mothers [via a Women Build project for Habitat for Humanity].” Amongst those teams is a seven-member one from BLUE BLOODS, The Bricks & Sticks Chicks, which the actress is a part of.
“We have a make-up artist, someone from the wardrobe department, our script supervisor, and also myself and fellow castmembers Amy Carlson (Josie, ANOTHER WORLD), Vanessa Ray (Teri, AS THE WORLD TURNS) and Abigail Hawk,” Ramirez says proudly. “I’ve gotta get some steel-toed shoes! We have no idea what we’ll actually be doing, but we are excited and looking forward to it.” With just weeks left until the Saturday, September 26, build day, the actress is fundraising for the BLUE BLOODS team.
