Jacob Young Previews His ‘Killer’ New Movie Role (EXCLUSIVE)

Tags:

Since choosing not to renew his contract with THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL to explore other career options, Jacob Young (Rick) has been keeping very busy with new music and new roles, like the one in the upcoming movie, Killer Vacation, which reunites him with his former ALL MY CHILDREN castmate Alexa Havins! The two played JR and Babe on the ABC sudser, and were thrilled to be reunited on the film set. “It was great!” Young enthused to Soaps In Depth. “We hadn’t seen each other — I don’t know, almost probably seven, eight years — but it was easy because we hit it right back off. And I feel like in many ways, the characters that we played in this film were not too far off from the characters we played on AMC.”

In the thriller, premiering Friday, Nov. 23 at 8 p.m. ET on Lifetime Movie Network, Young and Havins play Jake and Lindsey, a couple who have been together for years, ever since he learned his wife had cheated on him. When Jake discovers Lindsey is pregnant, he offers to marry her as soon as his divorce is final and whisks her off to New Mexico for a “babymoon.” However, when an accident nearly takes Lindsey’s life and she suspects Jake’s soon-to-be-ex wife, Gwen, the mystery deepens. Gwen insists there was never any affair, and Jake just likes to sleep with pretty young women but when they get too close, he takes them on vacations from which they never return! But is Jake the dangerous one, or might it be Gwen, out for revenge?

Young was excited to sink his teeth into a darker role, one where his character could be a cold-blooded killer! “Nice guy is okay,” he admitted, “but when you have one that’s stirring up the pot and creating all the animosity with all the other characters, it sure is a lot more fun!”

Babe met a tragic fate on AMC, but will Havins’ character in Killer Vacation also come to an unfortunate end? Is she really involved with a serial killer? Young appreciated the tightrope he had to walk as an actor playing Jake so he’s suspicious without giving away the ending of the story from the start. “I think you just gotta really start to believe your own lie,” the actor mused. “You want to make sure that whatever you’re saying is as genuine as you believe it to be.”
