Overwhelmed with gambling debts, Reese panicked when the thugs demanded their money and threatened to hurt his daughter if he didn’t pay up. So he stole Hope’s newborn and told her the baby girl had died so he could sell it to Steffy, who was desperate to adopt a baby girl so Kelly could have a sister. His old friend, Florence, agreed to go along with the scheme and pose as the birth mother, but has been wary of the plan from the start. “How much money are you getting for her?” she asks the deceptive doctor.

But even as Steffy settles in to her new life with daughters Kelly and Phoebe, Reese may not be out of the woods. Zoe has been suspicious of her father’s erratic behavior recently, and has decided to get to the bottom of it. “You think something shady’s going on?” Xander asks her. Zoe heads over to the apartment to speak with Flo, who looks about ready to crack under the pressure. “Why are you asking me all of these questions about this?” she asks.
Convinced her father has done something horrible, Zoe refuses to stop until she uncovers the truth, no matter how awful it might be. “I need to know what’s going on,” she demands, “and I need to know how it involves Steffy Forrester’s baby!” Will Flo keep their secret or break down and confess the truth?
