The Twist You Didn’t See Coming!
While it hasn’t been 100 percent confirmed yet, Y&R viewers have pretty much figured out that Cane’s beautiful assistant Hilary appears to be Rose’s daughter, Anne the online blogger who has been tormenting Neil and the Winters’ clan by posting embarrassing rumors and personal information. But last week, it became clear that the lovely vixen hasn’t been acting alone after she entered an apartment and hunky Mason emerged from the bathroom wearing only a towel! Of course, the steamy lip-lock that followed was another clue that this couple might be Genoa City’s newest scheme team!
Lamon Archey, who plays Mason, says that executive producer Jill Farren Phelps gave him a heads up over the plot twist for his character during the Daytime Emmys in June. “She said to me, ‘I just saw something good for your character.’ Then a few weeks later I got the script, and thought, ‘We’ve got something good!’ There were no hints that it was going to come about, so fans were totally surprised, which was awesome!”
In fact, Archey says that he tried to keep the secret with a self-imposed Internet silence. “I didn’t tweet. I didn’t say anything. I kept things low key!” he grins. “I think I tweeted Mishael [Morgan, Hilary] benignly once [and] people on Twitter put two and two together, and said, ‘Oh, wait a minute, why are these two talking? But [after the scene aired] so many people were into the shocker. It got Twitter going!”
What do you think of the plot twist?
