These Y&R and B&B Characters May Be Gone but They’ll Never Be Forgotten
Not even death could keep these characters from continuing to have an impact on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS and THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL.

The patriarch of the Abbott family passed away back in 2006. But his shadow still looms large, not only around the mansion in which the quarrelsome clan still resides but around the halls of Jabot Cosmetics, the makeup dynasty that he founded. In fact, it was only recently that Jack, playing dirtier than dirty, used against sister Ashley the fact that John wasn’t her biological father to ensure that she couldn’t be made CEO of the company. Enraged, she, in turn, fabricated the nastiest of tall tales that Jack wasn’t John’s biological offspring, either — a whopper of a lie that may have fractured the Abbotts for good.

So perhaps now would be a good time for John to pay his son another one of his spectral visits. That’s right — it isn’t just John’s name that gets bandied about by those who love and miss him. The tycoon’s ghost also occasionally appears to son Jack as a kind of conscience to dispense the wisdom that he so very often lacks.
B&B’s Stephanie Forrester

Whether Stephanie Forrester’s portrait is hanging above the mantel in her widower’s lavish L.A. mansion, Eric and his family still get the sense that the late steamroller is watching, shaking her head, judging. And it isn’t just when the frame dislodges itself from the wall in a fit of disapproval that they get that sense, either. It’s all the time! Quinn may be mistress of the manor now, but let’s face it — Stephanie will always be the lady of the manor.

And not only is she never far from Eric’s thoughts — as evidenced when he raises a martini glass to the better half he spent decades loving, hating and sometimes both at once! — she still holds a huge chunk of frenemy Brooke’s heart. So we have no doubt that, when she’s making a classic Brooke blunder — like exchanging kisses with ex-husband Bill Spencer when she only recently remarried ex-husband Ridge — she can picture in her head Stephanie rolling her eyes and muttering, “Once a slut from the Valley, always a slut from the Valley!”

No stranger to Sturm und Drang, the Duchess must love that she remains in the thick of things in Genoa City. And we’re not just talking about the way she frequently crosses the minds — and her name, the lips — of her nearest and dearest like Jill Atkinson and Nikki Newman (although it’s true that they can’t look at a dazzling bauble or observe a cake fight without thinking of Kay).

Since Chancellor Park was named for the much-missed grand dame, it’s as if she’s always a part of the goings on there. And, while sure, she would have been horrified that J.T. Hellstrom had abused ex-wife Victoria Newman and gotten himself “killed,” she’d also have been delighted to have been among the women keeping the secret of his fate — and his temporary resting place beneath that unusual statue in the middle of the park!
