Watch the Awesome New Music Video From Y&R’s Cait Fairbanks
You know her as the girl with the guitar trying to make it in the music business, but THE YOUNG & RESTLESS star Cait Fairbanks (Tessa) has a thriving music career under the name Ginesse (pronounced like “Hennessy”). Her latest single, “The Inbetween,” has just been released, and is garnering rave reviews from fans and critics. The song deals with the thorny issue of whether you should turn a friendship into a romantic relationship. “I’m a pretty cautious person overall, so I don’t like taking that risk,” Fairbanks stated to Paper magazine. “When someone means so much to your life, is it worth it see if there’s more? I’m not sure in every situation that it’s the right move. I let go of my expectations for how the song should go, and how my life was going at the moment and I started to feel very present and happier in general.”
The video was choreographed by Marguerite Derricks, who Fairbanks first met when they both worked together on Heathers: The Musical. “She is such a strong woman, and I look up to her immensely as an artist and as a human being,” said Fairbanks. “She’s choreographed so many iconic scenes and shows, and I felt so honored she wanted to collaborate on this video.”
The music video was filmed in one long shot, and starts out with a closeup of Ginesse, AKA Fairbanks, singing directly to the camera. Suddenly dancers appear, and as the camera slowly pulls back, the viewer gets to enjoy watching the actress/singer perform and dance throughout. Ginesse has an artist page on both Spotify and iTunes and you’ll be able to listen and purchase her music on either of those sites. And, of course, you’ll be able to continue seeing Fairbanks playing Tessa on Y&R. But you can watch her colorful new music video below! (Warning: There is one use of a profanity.)
