THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS’ Doug Davidson Signs With Media Artists Group

Tags:

In an effort to take his career further, Doug Davidson has signed on with Media Artists Group Talent Agency to be represented by Lisa Zoeller and Raphael Berko. The actor, who has not had a lot of screen time recently as Paul Williams on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS, is looking forward to new and exciting future prospects. “We are excited to have Doug join us,” Berko, the president and founder of the agency said in a statement. “There has been a lot of talk about losing history in his past role. We are not going to rewrite history for Doug, but begin a new chapter in his career.”

Davidson made his debut on Y&R back in 1978, making him the longest-running member of the current cast. During his many years on the soap, he was nominated five times for Daytime Emmy Awards, bringing home the trophy for Outstanding Lead Actor in 2013. He has also appeared as a correspondent for CBS’ THE EARLY SHOW and hosted the Tournament of Roses parade for many years. And from 1994-95, Davidson was the host of the daily syndicated primetime version of THE PRICE IS RIGHT. Throughout his career, Davidson has also appeared in films like Fraternity Row, The Initiation of Sarah, and Dreaming of Joseph Lees as well as in primetime series like DIAGNOSIS MURDER.

But it’s playing Paul on Y&R that made Davidson beloved to fans, and with his screen time on the soap becoming less frequent in recent years, many viewers have reached out to the actor on social media to offer their continued support and urging the show to give Paul a big front-burner storyline again. Whether or not that actually happens, Davidson can take heart that his loyal fans will continue to follow and support him no matter where his career takes him.
