Eileen Davidson Looks Back on Some Classic Scenes — and Hair — From Her Years on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS
With Eileen Davidson’s time as Ashley Abbott on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS coming to an end on Monday, Oct. 29, the actress sat down to reminisce about the good old days of playing the beloved character. Looking back on some old clips, Davidson had plenty of comments, especially about her hairstyles — she started back in 1982, after all, when big hair was the trend!
From an early scene with Beth Maitland’s Traci all the way through to a recent Abbott family breakfast, Davidson has plenty of laughs as she watches the vintage scenes. Especially when Ashley meets her real father, Brent Davis, and confesses to Brad that she never had an affair with Victor to get pregnant. “I had sex with a turkey baster, Brad,” Davidson joked as the clip rolled. “I love that turkey baster. There’s just something about him.”
Of course, by the end, Davidson got seriously choked up as she said goodbye to Y&R and everything it means to her. “I just want to say what a pleasure it’s been to perform on this show on and off for so many years,” she expressed. “And my love and gratitude to all of you fans who have watched — I’m gonna cry! — watched me grow up. And I’m so happy. At least my hair came to like, some kind of positive end note. And I hope that I have also come to a positive end note with all of you.”
And blowing a final kiss goodbye, Davidson bids farewell. Watch the entire video complete with classic clips right here!
