Jett Slade on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS — Everything You Need to Know
The character of Jett Slade on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS was a mystery when he first appeared in March of 2019, but his portrayer, Gilbert Glenn Brown, may be familiar to some viewers. While this role marked his daytime debut, the actor has made numerous appearances in film and television. The character exited the canvas at the end of June, but he could come back one day.
Devon Hamilton wanted to know what his sister, Ana Hamilton, was doing with all her money and suspected she was in serious debt. But after following her to a motel, he discovered that she was actually funding medical treatments for her father. And much to Devon’s surprise, her father turned out to be former R&B star Jett Slade! However, he is in poor health and needs constant care from his nurse, Elena Dawson. Devon invited them both to move into the penthouse with him and Ana, and Jett accepted. He was reluctant to agree to Devon’s suggestion that he get back into music and go on tour, but after performing at the opening of Society, Jett changed his tune, so to speak, and left town to keep performing. Unfortunately, in October, Elena received a call and learned that Jett might have cancer.
According to Brown’s official website, he began acting on stage in theater productions between New York and California. He was born and raised in New York City into a family from Jamaica. He caught the acting bug in high school and he joined The Mind-Builders Creative Art Center’s Positive Youth Troupe. Continuing his studies at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, Brown graduated and pursued a career in show business.
Brown had a recurring role on the CBS children’s series THE INSPECTORS, and also guest-starred on primetime shows like THE PASSAGE, DYNASTY, THE RESIDENT, and QUEEN SUGAR. And he can also be seen on the big screen playing Howard Clement in The Best of Enemies, the new film starring Sam Rockwell and Taraji P. Henson.
