To honor the passing of Kristoff St. John, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS has written the death of his character, Neil Winters, into the show, allowing the characters to mourn their loss just as the actors did when their castmate left them back in February. But after the funeral is over, the Monday, April 29, episode of Y&R will be a very special one. Once the characters have had their say, the fictional stories will pause as the soap spends an hour with the actors sharing their own memories of their dear friend who left them too soon.
The tribute episode will include both classic clips from the soap showcasing Neil’s history in Genoa City as well as archive interview cips from St. John himself talking about how much Y&R meant to him. Current stars like Bryton James (Devon), Christel Khalil (Lily), and Joshua Morrow (Nick) will be joined by some faces from the past such as Shemar Moore (Malcolm) and Victoria Rowell (Drucilla) to share their stories. “To work with him was effortless,” Rowell says in the preview. And Moore holds up one of the photos he keeps of St. John riding on his shoulders and declares: “He carried me. And now he’s gone but I’m gonna keep on trying to make him proud.”
