THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS Spoilers — Mourning the Death of Neil Winters
It’s a heartbreaking week in these THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS spoilers as Genoa City mourns the loss of one of its most beloved citizens, so get your tissues ready.
The week kicks off with the celebration of the opening of Abby’s new restaurant, Society, and everyone who’s anyone is in attendance — including Ashley. Jack is surprised to see his sister at the grand opening party and the two siblings can’t help but exchange barbs. “Welcome home, sis,” Jack says with as much fake sincerity as he can muster. Ashley matches her brother’s fake smile and responds: “Thank you. I wanted to support my daughter.” Jack cuts in to add: “And your company.” How long will this war last and who will emerge the victor?
Elsewhere at the opening, Devon is thrilled that Lily can attend the bash now that she’s been released from prison. But he’s also noticed that Neil hasn’t shown up yet and asks if she knows where he could be. “Have you heard from Dad?” he asks. Lily shrugs and replies with a chuckle: “Last I heard he was recharging his battery at your place for the dance floor.” Devon checks his phone again and sighs. “I was hoping he’d be here by now,” he admits, concern in his voice, “but he hasn’t responded to my messages or my texts.”
The news that Neil has died then spreads around Genoa City… and beyond. As family and loved ones come together to mourn his passing, old friends return home to pay their respects. Devon opens the door to his penthouse to see Malcolm standing there, eyes brimming with tears. No words are necessary as the two men share an emotional embrace.
