THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS’ Bryton James Reaches a Daytime Emmy Milestone!

Tags:

Bryton James (Devon, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS) feels like he’s in good company among the other Supporting Actor nominees for this year’s Daytime Emmy Awards!

Having been nominated five times in the Younger Actor category — and winning in 2007 — the actor is excited to have graduated out of it. “It’s my first time to be nominated for supporting,” he tells Soaps In Depth, “so I’m thrilled.”

James is honored to be up for the award among such talented competition, especially Y&R castmate Steve Burton (Dylan)! “Growing up, my mother used to watch GENERAL HOSPITAL [where he played Jason], so he was a very familiar face to me growing up,” he reveals. “It’s kind of cool to be nominated beside someone you grew up watching like that.”

Still, he’s hopeful he might go home with Emmy gold on May 1, and has already started composing his acceptance speech. “I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t started thinking about it,” James confesses. “I have. You want to be prepared, because there is so little time and you want to mention everyone that is a part of your journey to get up there.”
