Y&R Star Sues CBS And Sony!

The daytime drama at THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS isn’t just in front of the cameras, it’s also behind the scenes! According to Daytime Confidential, Victoria Rowell (ex-Dru) is suing both CBS and Sony! The suit alleges that she was not rehired at Y&R in retaliation for her public and private complaints regarding the lack of diversity at Y&R both in front of and behind the camera.

Rowell claims that she reluctantly exited the soap in 2007 after years of racial discrimination described in the complaint. She also claims that since 2010, she has tried to return to Y&R or sister soap THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL but been denied. UPDATE: A CBS spokesperson tells Soaps In Depth: “We were disappointed to learn that, after leaving the cast of “The Young and the Restless” on her own initiative, Ms. Rowell has attempted to rewrite that history through lawyers’ letters and a lawsuit that has no merit. We harbor no ill will toward Ms. Rowell, but we will vigorously defend this case.”
