Chuck Pratt Jr., the current headwriter of THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS, has just been announced as the showrunner and executive producer of the upcoming FOX drama from Lee Daniels, STAR!
Our friends over at TV Line refer to Pratt as the “ex-Y&R headwriter”, but as yet there has been no official confirmation from the soap that he is leaving or who would be replacing him at the helm of the top-rated daytime drama.

STAR follows the story of three young women who form a musical group in Atlanta and weather the industry’s ups and downs. Pratt has plenty of experience in primetime dramas as well, with stints on DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES and MELROSE PLACE.
