Jack runs into Phyllis at the Genoa City Athletic Club and is surprised by her new outlook on life that has inspired her not to try and salvage their shattered marriage. “You’re really to the point where you’re ready to walk away,” he marvels. “You were right,” she sadly admits. “It’s what’s best for both of us.” But has Jack changed his mind?

Now that the shock of Gloria’s sudden reappearance in their lives has settled down somewhat, Lauren and Michael wonder what her plans are now that she’s back in Genoa City. “I’m going to stay with you and Lauren for as long as you’ll have me,” Gloria informs her son. But will Lauren really want her mother-in-law under the same roof?

When Billy pays a visit to the Abbott mansion for Christmas, Traci begs him not to run off. “Just stay long enough to spend some time with your sisters on Christmas Eve,” she requests. “Please?” Ashley smiles hopefully awaiting his response, and Billy can’t resist a happy grin. But will he agree to stick around knowing that Jack could come home at any minute and reignite their sibling rivalry?
