Alison Sweeney Previews Her “Magical” Christmas Movie!

Tags:

Not too long ago, Alison Sweeney (ex-Sami, DAYS OF OUR LIVES) signed a multi-picture contract with Hallmark Media to act and produce several new movies for the network. And now, the first of those films will debut on Friday, November 4: A Magical Christmas Village!

Part of Hallmark’s “Countdown to Christmas” programming, the original movie stars the former DAYS star as Summer, an architect raising her daughter Chloe (played by Maesa Nicholson) as a single mom in a small town. Just before the holidays, Summer’s mom, Vivian (Marlo Thomas), moves in with them, sending Summer’s orderly life into a tailspin. With the holidays approaching, Vivian sets up an heirloom miniature village that resembles their town and tells Chloe it can magically grant Christmas wishes. As Chloe begins setting up the figurines, real-life events seem to mimic the scenes she creates, including Summer’s chance meeting with handsome newcomer Ryan, played by Luke Macfarlane.

As Ryan and Summer spend time together, they learn that they share much in common and he slowly helps her learn to open her heart to love again. Meanwhile, living under the same roof gives Summer and Vivian the opportunity to mend fences and heal old wounds. And with the help of the magical Christmas village, the family will be brought closer together just in time for the holiday!

“Getting super excited about A Magical Christmas Village, premiering this Friday!” Sweeney, who shares a producing credit on the film with Macfarlane, enthused on Instagram. “Luke and I had so much fun with these characters and this romantic Christmas adventure. I can’t wait for you all to see it!”

In a behind-the-scenes video for A Magical Christmas Village posted on the Hallmark site, Sweeney shared what she loves most about the holiday season. “My favorite thing about Christmas is the magic of Christmas,” she said, adding that when it comes to the magic that seems to occur in the movie, “You have to really wonder, is it the village causing these things to happen? There is magic in it.”
