Billy Flynn Opens up About Chad’s Suspicion of Abigail on DAYS

Characters come back from the dead quite often on Days of Our Lives, but it’s still up to the actors to sell the reality of the storyline as best as they can. So for Billy Flynn, that meant showing Chad’s journey as he runs through the gamut of emotions as he processes the idea that his beloved wife, Abigail, is alive again.

“It was originally written that Chad was going to be all-in,” Flynn revealed to Soap Opera Digest. “That he thought it was Abigail and Jack was the skeptical one. That just never made sense to me, especially because of the connection [that Chad and Abigail] had. So the way I played it was that Chad was all-in believing it was her but when he finally sees her, it’s not the person he was chasing. If it is Abigail, he’s not getting back the Abigail he went looking for. So that’s the mindset I went into it with.”

So now it’s Jack who wholeheartedly believes that this mystery woman is Abigail after the DNA test while Chad has now changed to not being entirely convinced of this woman’s true identity. And Jennifer’s reaction to seeing “Abigail” and insisting that’s not her daughter has only made Chad more skeptical.

“He knows the way Abigail moves,” Flynn explained. “Even if somebody looks different, there are going to be [other similarities]. Chad’s searching for that. He’s looking for something that doesn’t seem to be there — a tic, the way she moves, the way she touches her hair. Those things aren’t going to change.”

Of course, “Abigail” has already made a mysterious call to someone to tell them that things are going according to plan, so it’s clear that there’s definitely something else going on and Chad has every right to be suspicious of this woman who may or may not be his wife.
