Derek Yates Debuts as Kerry on Days Of Our Lives
Please join us in welcoming Derek Yates to the cast of Days Of Our Lives as Kerry! The actor made his debut as the mysterious new character in the July 10 episode of the soap. Kerry approached Leo in Horton Square and introduced himself as a big fan of Lady Whistleblower. Leo took the hunk back to his room at the Salem Inn where things quickly heated up!
“What’s up, DAYS fans,” he announced in a video the soap shared on social media. “I’m Derek Yates, being introduced into the world of Salem as Kerry. I’m coming in to be one of Leo’s many suitors, a little of a rotation of guys if you will, so… we’ll see where that leads us.”
Viewers might recognize Yates — although with shorter hair than he’s currently sporting on DAYS — from appearances in episodes of shows like CSI: Vegas, Minx, S.W.A.T., The Rookie: Feds, and How I Met Your Father. And technically, DAYS isn’t the actor’s daytime debut as his resume also lists an appearance as a waiter in a 2021 episode of General Hospital.
From his first appearance, it’s hard to say whether Kerry is on the up and up. When a fan asked how long Yates was going to be on DAYS, he replied: “Let’s just say it’s a roller coaster…” So stay tuned to see what kind of drama Kerry brings to Leo… and the rest of Salem!
