What Happened to Eduardo on DAYS OF OUR LIVES?

It’s been a few years since Eduardo Hernandez was on DAYS OF OUR LIVES, so if you need a little bit of a refresher on the character, we’ve got you covered! Actor A Martinez made his debut in the role in September 2015, and continued to appear on the soap until April 2017. And in September 2020, he’s set to bring Eduardo back to the canvas for another run.

Eduardo Hernandez first appeared at Eve Donovan’s home shortly after their daughter, Paige Larson, was murdered. Eve was furious with him, and Eduardo admitted he’d left because he’d always felt unworthy of Paige, though he’d always wanted to get to know her. Eduardo then ran into Rafe Hernandez, who warned his deadbeat dad to stay away from Gabi Hernandez. Seeing them together, Eve was stunned to learn that Eduardo had another family that he had abandoned. 

Eve refused Eduardo’s help with Paige’s funeral, and he became determined to find his daughter’s killer. Eventually, Gabi found out who Eduardo really is, and decided to get to know her father and let him try to be a grandfather to her daughter, Arianna. But then Eduardo’s past caught up with him and he refused orders to kill someone. John Black questioned him about Winterthorne Academy and Eduardo eventually revealed it was a training ground for assassins like them.

Eduardo began to repair his relationship with Rafe, but his brief romance with Kate Roberts hit the skids. Investigating her new beau, Deimos Kiriakis, Eduardo learned he was connected to the organization that made him and John assassins. This group abducted Marlena Evans and Arianna and during the rescue operation, Eduardo took a bullet meant for Rafe. After he recovered, Eduardo felt it would be safer for his family if he left town.

Disguising himself as a prison guard, Eduardo killed a convict he believed was threatening his family but inadvertently helped Xander Kiriakis, Clyde Weston, and Orpheus to escape in the process. After Eduardo helped save his other son, Dario Hernandez, after he was injured by Orpheus’ bomb, Dario confessed he was actually behind the threats. Father and son put the past behind them and went into business together creating a company as a cover for smuggling microchips.

After a whole big mess where various people were kidnapped in the hopes of unearthing the key to a computer program called Orwell, Eduardo agreed to help Chloe Lane track down Nicole Walker, who had kidnapped her daughter, Holly. But his ulterior motive was to make Kate jealous. Eventually, Kate agreed to a date, but beforehand, Eduardo went to do a business deal and was arrested for possession of stolen treasury bonds. Eduardo asked Rafe to help him out, but he had to do his job. As he was led away by the authorities, Eduardo thanked his family for giving him another chance and apologized for letting them down yet again.
