Jackée Harry Signs a Contract to Stay at DAYS OF OUR LIVES
Among the reports of the amazing news that DAYS OF OUR LIVES had been renewed for two more seasons was another little tidbit revealing that Jackée Harry signed a contract to continue playing the role of Paulina Price! Deadline reported that in anticipation of their renewal, the NBC sudser had been making deals with key cast members, and that included bumping Harry from recurring to full-time!
When Harry made her debut in Salem in the March 1 episode of DAYS, she made an immediate splash as Paulina. But at the time, she wasn’t sure how long her stint would last. Although she got her start in daytime playing Lily on ANOTHER WORLD, the pace of soap production now is much different than it was back in the ‘80s. “I will say that the workload is a lot,” Harry admitted to Entertainment Weekly when she first started at DAYS. “After this, I don’t know what will become of my brain. I have so many scripts at my house I say I have enough to make a tree.”
However, Harry was also quick to add that there was always the possibility that she’d stick around longer than just a brief stint. “I’m having a ball,” she declared, “and what I’ll say about more is ‘Never say never.’”
Now that DAYS has resumed production there are plenty more stories to tell, including more drama for Paulina as she tries to wrangle her wild-child daughter, Chanel, as well as navigate Salem society. She’s been eying up Abe since she arrived, so could a romance be in the cards? You’ll just have to stay tuned to find out!
