Daytime star Judi Evans has reached out with a special message to fans from her hospital bed. “Thank you!” she shared via a hand-written note she held up for the camera. “Your love and prayers and support have meant the world to me!” The actress, who began her daytime career playing Beth on GUIDING LIGHT and also starred on ANOTHER WORLD as Paulina and AS THE WORLD TURNS as Maeve, is probably best known to soap fans as Adrienne and Bonnie on DAYS OF OUR LIVES.
According to her friend and publicist, Howie Simon, Evans was admitted to the hospital after a horse-riding accident, and while there, became infected with COVID-19. “She had what is known as the COVID blood clots in her legs and she nearly had both legs amputated on two different occasions,” he reported on Facebook. “She had mild symptoms — fever, aches, a cough, and the blood clots. On top of everything, when she went into surgery on one of her legs, they forgot to numb the leg and cut into her leg while she was fully conscious with no numbing of the area!
“However, speaking to her on Sunday, she was in good spirits and back to the Judi ‘humor’ despite all these spiraling turn of events,” Simon continued. “She has said she appreciates all the prayers for her and they’ve helped her mentally, physically, and spiritually! She just wants to continue to test negative on COVID-19 before she can go home and get the rest she so needs!”
Simon shared Judi’s photo with her message to fans to let them know that she’s been keeping up on all of their Facebook messages to her during this difficult time. Please join us in wishing the DAYS star all the best for a speedy recovery so she can go home soon!
