Kyle Lowder Returns to DAYS OF OUR LIVES!

Look for a familiar face to be back in Salem very soon! DAYS OF OUR LIVES fan favorite Kyle Lowder is headed back to the NBC soap as Rex Brady!

The announcement that Lowder (whose first foray in Salem was actually playing Brady Black from 2000-’05 before Eric Martsolf took over the role) was making a comeback came from DAYS star Stephen Nichols (Steve), who broke the news on social media.

“And look… a new scene partner for Mary Beth Evans and me,” Nichols wrote, sharing a video clip of him, Kayla’s portrayer, and Lowder in the hallway outside of Evans’ dressing room. “He’s a solid actor and a good guy, too. Lucky us.”

In the video clip that accompanied Nichols’ post, the actor was seen knocking over and over again on Evans’ door. When Nichols tried to coax her to come out of her dressing room into the hallway, Evans — who had a comfy bathrobe over her clothes — explained that she was “microwaving my water to make some tea.”

Turning the camera to the other side of the hallway, Nichols said, “And there comes our other scene partner,” as Lowder entered the frame. “What’s happening?” Lowder said while flashing a peace sign. “That’s Kyle over there,” Nichols said by way of introducing his back-again co-star. “Let’s do this,” Lowder said, just as Evans exited her dressing room with a script in hand.

After his initial DAYS stint, Lowder returned to the soap in 2018 as Rex and has played the role on and off ever since. His last appearance was in January when Rex revealed to Xander that Sarah had dumped him. But what neither of them knew was that Sarah had been abducted by Kristen and shipped off to DiMera Island and was being held prisoner!

So what brings Rex back to Salem this time? According to the new issue of Soap Opera Digest, Rex shows up in town with some key information regarding Sarah’s whereabouts the night that Abigail was murdered. Might what Rex has to say clear his ex-wife’s name… or do the exact opposite? Stay tuned!
