Mary Beth Evans Mourns the Loss of Her Mother

Tags:

Our thoughts are with DAYS OF OUR LIVES star Mary Beth Evans (Kayla) and her family, who are mourning the death of the family’s matriarch, Dianne. The beloved actress announced the sad news on Instagram, penning a moving tribute to her late mother that accompanied a photo of the two women caught in a moment of laughter.

“On Friday, Dec. 2, my mother, Dianne, passed away,” Evans wrote. “Although my parents were divorced when I was six years old, she had already laid a strong foundation of love and discipline that has carried us through our lives.”

The DAYS star had previously shared that Dianne, who was in her 80s, raised her four young children as a single mother while putting herself through nursing school. “She was a lover and a nurturer by nature, and having married seven times, she never feared trying again,” Evans continued in her lovely tribute. “My three siblings and I, along with our spouses, made sure her life was as comfortable as we possibly could; and just in August, she told me she was happy and content.”

Evans declared that her mom left behind a “pretty great legacy.”Instagram

According to the actress, her mother had been experiencing some medical issues over the last several months. “She was a bit of a butterfly and definitely unconventional, but she left a lasting impression with everyone she ever met. In September, her health took a sudden turn, and it has been difficult to go through this process of rapid decline with her.”

While it will be difficult for Evans and her family to adapt to life without Dianne in it, they were able to spend her last days with her. “We were by her side telling her endlessly how much we loved her,” the soap legend concluded. “We will keep her in our hearts forever.” Dianne is survived by a brother, four children, eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Please join us in extending our condolences to Evans and her family during this difficult time.
