With all the high-profile castmembers leaving DAYS OF OUR LIVES in the coming months, fans are understandably nervous about who’s going to be left once the soap returns to taping new episodes as planned in September. But Linsey Godfrey (Sarah) and Paul Telfer (Xander) have reassured viewers that they’re not going anywhere! “They’re going to have to pry me out of there, haha!” Godfrey declared on Twitter.
Telfer quickly replied with: “Oh yeah, I”m not going anywhere” before quickly adding, “as far as I know.” Godfrey responded to that with a cute GIF of a startled baby and joked: “There is always that element of surprise!”
Among the actors slated to exit DAYS in the coming months are Kristian Alfonso (Hope), Galen Gering (Rafe), Chandler Massey and Freddie Smith (Will and Sonny), Victoria Konefal (Ciara) and Greg Vaughan (Eric). Although some fans assumed these choices were due to not wanting to go back to work during the current COVID-19 pandemic, Telfer reported that isn’t the case. “Some of these decisions were made last year or during winter hiatus,” he posted. Given that DAYS was shooting episodes over six months ahead of when they would air, these decisions would have been made a while back.
At least fans who’ve grown fond of the Xander/Sarah pairing can take heart that as the estranged lovers are finding their way back to each other, there’s still plenty more story to tell with them. So stay tuned to see what happens next!
