TR Coates on DAYS OF OUR LIVES — Everything You Need To Know

TR Coates is a new character on DAYS OF OUR LIVES but for some soap fans, he may be a familiar face. The role is being played by actor William Christian, who is perhaps best known as police chief Derek Frye on ABC sudser ALL MY CHILDREN. He has actually been on DAYS before, playing an ISA goon for a handful of episodes back in 2018. Viewers might also recognize Christian from his numerous roles in primetime series like THE COSBY SHOW, ER, PRISON BREAK, DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, and HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER.

TR Coates — full name Terrell Raymond Coates — is the movie producer that Johnny DiMera was working with on his movie, although the filmmaker eventually changed his mind about dramatizing Marlena’s previous possession once the devil had returned to Salem for another round. Of course, that was before Johnny was possessed himself during Marlena’s exorcism, so who knows how he’ll react to TR showing up in Salem to check on him!

The real drama is that TR Coates is also Paulina Price’s ex, Ray, who she said was abusive and controlling. She gave up their daughter, Lani Price, to be raised by her sister, Tamara, in order to protect the girl from him. Lani grew up believing that Tamara was her mother and that Abe Carver was her father, but she recently learned that Aunt Paulina was actually her biological mother, and she then explained to Lani about her biological father.
