Y&R’s Greg Rikaart and Emily O’Brien Reunite on DAYS!
It was like old home week when Leo and Gwen reunited in the April 14 episode of DAYS OF OUR LIVES. And it was also a delightful reunion for their portrayers, Greg Rikaart and Emily O’Brien! “Playing Leo is like a gift horse,” Rikaart tweeted. “Getting to work with Emily again is like looking that gift horse in the mouth but instead of something bad happening, the horse just opens his mouth and gives you another gift.”
The pair had previously shared the daytime screen back on CBS sudser THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS. Rikaart had been playing Kevin Fisher since 2003 when O’Brien joined the cast in 2006 as Jana Hawkes. Jana and Kevin’s romance hit a slight snag when then she locked him and Colleen in a walk-in fridge and murdered Carmen, but then it was revealed a brain tumor was responsible for her psychotic behavior.
Kevin and Jana were eventually married but her condition worsened and after she cheated on him, he began seeing Chloe. Jana resorted to faking brain damage and then kidnapping Kevin to win him back, plotting to kill Chloe, but all her schemes ended when she suffered another aneurysm and died.
On DAYS, Gwen is in love with Xander and Leo is planning to marry Craig, so this storyline should turn out quite differently. Although with Gwen having lured Xander to the altar through lies and manipulation and Leo only after Craig’s money, neither character may get the happy ending they’re so desperate for!
