Daytime Emmys 2020: Review the Younger Performer Reels

The Daytime Emmy Awards are on Friday, June 26, and in the days leading up to the big ceremony, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences is releasing clips from the reels submitted by the nominees in the major categories. Today they posted the Outstanding Young Performer category, and there is a lot of talent on display here from these five young women.

Sasha Calle (Lola, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS) submitted the episode where Lola was recovering in the hospital and tearfully told Kyle to go back to Summer. DAYS OF OUR LIVES‘ Olivia Rose Keegan’s reel showcased Claire angrily lashing out at Ciara and explaining why she wanted her dead.

GENERAL HOSPITAL‘s Katelyn MacMullen selected the episode where Willow opened up during Kristina’s intervention to describe her horrifying experience as a member of the Dawn of Day cult. Her GH castmate, Eden McCoy (Josslyn) had a wealth of material to choose from with Oscar’s cancer storyline and her clip features the scene where Joss was relieved when Oscar woke up in the hospital and clung to him in his bed. Thia Megia (Haley, DAYS) chose to submit the episode where her character wanted to tell J.J. she loved him but pushed him away instead.

Check out these clips and just try to pick a winner from these talented actresses. And of course, once you have, be sure to head on over to our Daytime Emmys poll to vote on who you think should take home the gold on the big night!

And don’t forget to check out the reels already released in the Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Supporting Actress, and Outstanding Lead Actor categories!
