DAYS Stars Bill Hayes and Susan Seaforth Hayes to Receive Lifetime Achievement Awards at the Daytime Emmys!
The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has announced that veteran DAYS OF OUR LIVES stars Bill Hayes (Doug) and Susan Seaforth Hayes (Julie) will be honored with Lifetime Achievement Awards during the 45th Daytime Emmy Awards ceremony.“I’ve been star-struck by the dynamic duo of Bill Hayes and Susan Seaforth Hayes for decades,” said David Michaels, SVP, Daytime Emmy Awards, NATAS. “The scope of their work across the television, film and stage landscape is amazing. Their continuing roles of almost 50 years on Days of Our Lives, where they also met and married, is a daytime story like no other!”
Bill Hayes already had an impressive career in film and television (and a gold record for “The Ballad of Davy Crockett” in 1955!) before he joined the cast of DAYS in 1970. He was nominated for Outstanding Actor Daytime Emmy Awards in 1975 and 1976. His wife, Susan Seaforth Hayes, began playing Julie back in 1968, and the two co-stars fell in love and were married in 1974. She received Outstanding Actress Emmy nominations in 1975, 1976, 1978, and 1979.

Another famous duo is receiving the other Lifetime Achievement Award this year — legendary television producers Sid and Marty Krofft. They were responsible for classic children’s TV series like H.R. PUFNSTUF, LAND OF THE LOST, and SIGMUND & THE SEA MONSTERS. The Krofft Brothers will be presented with their trophy at the Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Awards on Friday, April 27, while Bill and Susan Seaforth Hayes will receive theirs at the 45th Daytime Emmy Awards ceremony on Sunday, April 29.
