Daytime Emmy Awards 2022 to Air on CBS in June!

Mark your calendars, soap fans! The 49th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will be broadcast live on Friday, June 24, from 9:00-11:00 p.m. ET on CBS and Paramount+! The ceremony is set to be held at the Pasadena Civic Center.

Fans were excited when the Daytime Emmys returned to television in 2020, even if the ceremony had been delayed and ultimately held remotely due to COVID. After the 2015 awards were aired on the Pop TV cable network in 2015, the Daytime Emmy Awards were only streamed online, leaving many viewers disappointed. 

Daytime Emmys 2022 date

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and the Television Academy announced back in December 2021 that they were realigning the Daytime and Primetime Emmy Awards to organize content by genre, and not separating programs based on when they air during the day. So while the regular daytime dramas like DAYS OF OUR LIVES, GENERAL HOSPITAL, THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL, and THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS will remain part of the Daytime Emmys, the Limited Drama categories — which include streaming soaps like THE BAY and STUDIO CITY — will transition into the primetime competition.

The new categories will become clearer when nominees are announced on Thursday, May 5, which is another day you’ll want to make sure you mark on your calendar!
