The Daytime Emmy Awards are still a couple of months away, but we already know of one soap star who will be receiving a statuette on Friday, June 24! DAYS OF OUR LIVES veteran John Aniston (Victor) will be one of those presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award at this year’s ceremony!
Aniston has been playing patriarch Victor Kiriakis on DAYS since July 1985 and was nominated in 2017 for the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor for his work on the NBC sudser. Although his first appearance in Salem was actually back in 1969 when he portrayed the character Eric Richards for a year!
Other soaps on Aniston’s impressive resume include Eddie Aleata on LOVE OF LIFE and Martin Tourneur on SEARCH FOR TOMORROW, a role he played from 1980-84, after which he rejoined the cast of DAYS as Victor.
Aniston has also appeared in primetime series like I SPY, MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE, THAT GIRL, KOJAK, DIAGNOSIS MURDER, THE WEST WING, and GILMORE GIRLS, but it’s his decades in daytime that are being honored at the 49th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards. Don’t miss the ceremony when it is broadcast live on CBS!
