She’s raring to go! GENERAL HOSPITAL alum Alicia Leigh Willis (ex-Courtney) has been working on adding a very special skill to her resume lately: that of stunt driver! The actress attended the Motion Picture Driving Clinic this week at the Willow Springs International Raceway. Run by Hollywood stunt driver Rick Seaman, the stunt driving school has been training actors, stunt players, and other members of the film industry for nearly 20 years.
“Having the time of my life in stunt driving school today,” Willis shared on Instagram, sharing a selfie from inside one of the cars. “Learning so much and haven’t stopped smiling once.” The GH alum also shared a video of her driving a red Mustang around the bend of the raceway, perfectly hitting her mark as she came to a sliding stop parallel to a row of delineator posts! “Learning how to hit our marks yesterday, she wrote. “Wish I’d gotten a video of the 180s and car chase stunts. Guess I’ll have to go back.”
Stunt driving isn’t the only new skill that Willis has been learning, either! Over the past few years, she’s been working toward earning her pilot license! Willis took her first solo flight nearly a year ago, and earlier this month logged her first hours up in the air over California in the dark! “Got to do my first night flight tonight!” she posted. “What an amazing experience! Seeing Orange County all lit up below me was so beautiful.”
Willis’ newfound passion for stunt driving isn’t too surprising, considering that her beau, Tanner Foust, is a champion car racer himself! In fact, Foust is also a stunt performer and driver who worked on films like The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, Ford v Ferrari, and The Dukes of Hazzard. And since Foust is also a pilot, the couple’s dates sometimes include romantic flights — like the one they recently took for her birthday!
You can follow more of Willis’ adventures on Instagram, and we look forward to seeing her stunt work on television and film soon!
