Alicia Leigh Willis Previews Her “Unforgettable” Holiday Film
If you are looking for something to watch on television on Thanksgiving night after spending the day eating turkey and pumpkin pie, we have just the treat for you: GENERAL HOSPITAL alum Alicia Leigh Willis (ex-Courtney) headlines the original Fox Nation holiday film, Christmas at The Greenbrier! Starring Willis and Josh Murray, the movie is set at the iconic West Virginia luxury resort and is the second original film produced by Fox News Media for its entertainment streaming service.
“Had so much fun working on this project!” Willis cheered in an Instagram post promoting the movie, which was shot on location at the resort. “What an unforgettable experience it was to film at The Greenbrier.”
In the film, Willis plays Abby, a widowed mother, and Murray is Ben, a former professional football player. The two dated years ago, before Ben’s football career got in the way. But Abby and Ben may just get a second chance at love when they unexpectedly run into one another at The Greenbrier around the holiday season!
The historic resort first opened back in 1778 and The Greenbrier has welcomed 26 presidents and countless celebrities as guests in the nearly 250 years since. While the beautiful grounds, romantic carriage rides, and many other amenities are certainly must-see attractions for visitors, one of the most fascinating parts of the iconic hotel is the declassified bunker that was built into the mountainside in the late 1950s as a top-secret emergency Cold War fallout shelter for all 535 members of Congress!
The movie was shot over the summer, but Willis and Murray returned to The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs in mid-October for the resort’s red-carpet premiere of the film — and Christmas at The Greenbrier has been available for guests to view on demand at the property during the month of November. “What an incredible night we had at the premiere of Christmas at The Greenbrier!” the former GH star shared. “I had the most amazing time filming in this magical place. Can’t wait to go back ❤️.”
In an interview with the local ABC affiliate, WOAY, Willis shared that she had much in common with Abby as a single mom. “My life was kind of mirroring the role,” explained Willis, who recently got engaged. “So, I got my second chance at love and so did Abby. So it was really nice to be able to play that out on screen.”
Christmas at The Greenbrier will be available for streaming on Fox Nation on Thursday, Nov. 24.
