There is another Hannah Swensen movie soon headed to Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, which means that Alison Sweeney (ex-Sami, DAYS OF OUR LIVES) and Cameron Mathison (Drew, GENERAL HOSPITAL) will be back together on the small screen! The actors will reprise their roles of Hannah and Mike in the tentatively titled Carrot Cake Murder: A Hannah Swensen Mystery, according to ETOnline.
The movie is the second installment in the network’s Hannah Swensen mystery franchise, which is a continuation of the five-movie Murder, She Baked series in which Sweeney and Mathison starred from 2015 to 2017. The movies in both film franchises are based on the collection of Hannah Swensen Mystery books by Joanne Fluke. In addition to Sweeney and Mathison, cast members Barbara Niven (Liz, ONE LIFE TO LIVE) and Gabriel Hogan (who is married to GH’s former Harmony, Inga Cadranel) will also be back as Hannah’s mom, Delores, and friend, Norman.
Carrot Cake Murder begins when a skeleton is discovered amid the rubble of a building undergoing renovation — revealing that one of Lake Eden’s beloved citizens is not who he claims to be! Much to the dismay of her detective fiancé, Hannah begins to investigate the mystery on her own. As she pieces together the events that led to the murder (and tries to figure out the victim’s true identity), Hannah calls upon her mom, Delores, for help in bringing the killer to justice.
In addition to starring in the movie, Sweeney also serves as an executive producer, as part of her multi-picture deal with Hallmark Media. “The fans of Hannah Swensen are incredible, and we are so excited to make more mysteries to share with them,” Sweeney told ET. “Plus, working together again with Cam and Barbara is so much fun!”
Production on Carrot Cake Murder is currently underway in Vancouver and scheduled to wrap on March 10. Be sure to check back with SoapsInDepth.com for updates on when the movie will premiere!
