Cameron Mathison Christmas Movie Update!
We’ve got some bad news and good news for fans of soap star Cameron Mathison (Drew, General Hospital). The bad news is that his previously announced Great American Family holiday movie with Candace Cameron Bure, Jingle Bells, Wedding Bells, is not going into production this year. But the good news is that he’s shooting another holiday movie with Bure as his co-star titled Home Sweet Christmas!
We’ve been waiting to do this for a long time,” Mathison enthused in a clip alongside Bure on set he shared on his Instagram Stories. “Home Sweet Christmas. It’s official. You guys are gonna love this. You’re gonna love it.”
The plot of Home Sweet Christmas revolves around Sophie Marlow, played by Bure, a successful mergers and acquisitions attorney who returns home after her great uncle passed away and left her a majority share in his sugar maple forest. As Sofie relives her childhood in Washington, she encounters her old friend Sam, played by Mathison. Turns out he was left the other part of the business, and while the original plan is to sell Marlow Maple Meadows, things obviously won’t go according to plan!
In addition to his roles as All My Children’s Ryan Lavery and GH’s Drew Quartermaine, Mathison has appeared in numerous television movies for Hallmark and now Great American Family. And he has plenty of experience with holiday films having starred in A Christmas to Remember, The Christmas Club, and A Merry Christmas Wish.
While there is no specific premiere date scheduled for Home Sweet Christmas yet, it is slated to run as part of Great American Family’s Great American Christmas 2024, so fans can look forward to seeing it later this year.
