“I have so many beautiful and incredible memories I don’t even know where to start,” Mathison continued. “You will always be with me in my heart. I love you and miss you so much I can’t put into words.”

Just a couple of weeks earlier, Mathison reported that while his two-year cancer check-up came back clear, his mother was battling brain cancer and “still fighting hard.” As his mother had been there to support him while he battled kidney cancer, he also vowed to be there for her as she fought cancer herself.

Naturally, Mathison’s fans, friends, and co-stars flooded his comments with love and condolences. “Much love and light,” wrote Laura Wright (Carly, GH). “My thoughts are with you and your family.” And Melissa Clare Egan (Chelsea, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS), who played Annie to his Ryan on ALL MY CHILDREN, expressed: “Cam, I am so sorry. Sending you and the family all the love in the world.”

“I love you and am calling you now,” Alicia Minshew (Kendall, AMC) commented as she read his heartfelt post. “My heart just sank. Your beautiful mother is with you now and always. Sending prayers to you and your family, my sweet friend.”

Our thoughts are with Mathison’s entire family during this difficult time.
