Fans of GENERAL HOSPITAL scene-stealer Carolyn Hennesy (Diane) won’t be able to see the talented actress in her new series, but they’ll definitely hear her! Hennesy is one of the stars of the new Paramount+ animated children’s series BIG NATE, which will premiere in early 2022.
Nickelodeon Animation Studio is producing the animated show based on the best-selling children’s books and comic strips from Lincoln Pierce. The 26-episode series follows Nate Wright, a precocious 11-year-old boy, who expresses himself through the world of cartoons that he creates. Whether he’s dealing with drama at home or trouble at school, Nate never backs down from a challenge!
Hennesy is playing the character of Mrs. Godfrey, affectionately nicknamed the “Creature Teacher” by Nate. She’s always on edge and waiting for someone — usually Nate — to step out of line. The cast also includes Ben Giroux as Nate, Dove Cameron as his older sister, Ellen, and Rob Delaney as his dad, Martin.
Hennesy joined the cast of GH back in December 2006 and while appearing on the ABC soap also appeared on primetime series like COUGAR TOWN, TRUE BLOOD, REVENGE, and JESSIE. The in-demand actress is also no stranger to voice work, having lent her talents to the animated series STAR WARS RESISTANCE (playing Princess Leia!), and videogames like Star Trek: Bridge Crew and Blade Runner: Revelations.
As Hennesy is only recurring on GH, she’s able to book all kinds of other gigs while still making time for visits to Port Charles. So Diane fans don’t need to worry — it just means even more Hennesy to enjoy!
